The Huge Map Pool Shakeup: Cache Returns?
The biggest talking point for Season 5 is the shakeup to the Active Duty map pool. According to community files and recent patch hints, Overpass is being removed from the Premier rotation due to low pick rates.
Stepping into its place is the highly anticipated, fully remade version of Cache. Valve has teased this release for months, ensuring it wasn’t “microwaved” but properly cooked for the Source 2 engine.

Rank Reset & Season Rewards
When Season 5 goes live, your current CS Rating will undergo a hard reset. Everyone will return to an unranked status and must complete placement matches to earn a new rating.
Important Note: To secure your Premier Season 4 Commemorative Medal, make sure you have achieved at least 25 Premier wins and possess a visible CS Rating before the July 6 cutoff.
- Recalibration: Your performance in early Season 5 placements will heavily dictate your starting tier.
- Rank Distribution: The bell curve will shift early on as high-elo and low-elo players mix in initial lobbies.
